Mario Aransay

Mario oversees Santander Innoventures’ portfolio, with a focus on enabling value creation within portfolio businesses through initiatives with Banco Santander business units. After joining Banco Santander in 2006, Mario held a variety of positions in M&A, IT & Ops, Corporate Development and within venture building initiatives. He has been a founding member of internal initiatives in direct e-lending, SME finance, and personal finance management. He has conducted dozens of transactions across sectors such as consumer, retail (goods and services), financial services and business process outsourcing, giving Mario a broad knowledge of business operations within growth-stage companies. Mario is also a private angel investor and board member in non-fintech initiatives. Mario grew-up in Madrid, Wales and in the Adirondacks mountains. He holds a BA in Business Administration from CUNEF, and is alumni of INSEAD Inter-Alpha Banking Program and IE Advance Corporate Finance Program.
