Mona Vernon

Mona M. Vernon is the Head of Fidelity Labs, the internal fintech incubator at Fidelity Investments. Fidelity Labs plays a critical role in driving growth and innovation for the broader firm, developing new products and businesses such as ESG Pro. First introduced in January 2021, ESG Pro streamlines the work for financial advisors starting an ESG investing practice, from understanding clients’ values to constructing model portfolios. Prior to joining Fidelity, Mona was the Chief Technology Officer at Thomson Reuters Labs. She founded and scaled the Thomson Reuters network of global innovation labs and oversaw the research and development function including the Center for Cognitive Computing and blockchain engineering. She also managed the corporate start-up investment fund. Mona holds a B.S. and M.S. in mechanical engineering from Tufts University and a S.M. in Engineering and Management from MIT. She is an Executive Board Member of the FinTech Sandbox, a Corporate Council Member at Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College, and a senior research affiliate in the MIT Future of Data, Trust, and Privacy initiative.
