Tony Holt

Tony's primary focus at Square Peg Capital is on growth investments in online and technology companies. He has worked in Melbourne, New York, Sydney and Asia for industry leading organisations. From 1991 through 2006, Tony was with Merrill Lynch in the Investment Banking Division. He had experience in a wide range of Corporate Finance, M&A, and Capital Raising advice and dealing in Melbourne (1991 – 1993), New York (1993 – 1996) and Sydney (1996 – 2006). From 2006 through 2008, Tony was a Managing Director at Citigroup’s Sydney Investment Banking Group and Head of the “TMT” business in Australia and New Zealand. Commencing in 2008 Tony joined Macquarie Capital where he worked until co-founding Square Peg Capital. While at Macquarie, Tony worked in Sydney and in Hong Kong and held a variety of roles including co-head of TMET for Asia and Head of Principal Investments for Macquarie Capital Asia. Tony has increasingly specialised in the telecom, media and technology industries, commencing over a decade ago. He has worked with clients throughout Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United States and Europe on transactions in pay television, radio, TV broadcasting, internet, telecommunications, magazines, newspapers and production and distribution. Tony has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Melbourne.
