Shahryar is a serial entrepreneur who has spent the last 25 years travelling the world, establishing new ventures, promoting US companies across several continents and in the process developing a profound global Rolodex of relationships. He has worked with many Corporations, Governments & Heads of State across the globe bringing new business opportunities to underdeveloped markets. A proven private equity investor with over 15 years of experience in the sector, Shahryar is currently focusing on making investments in the renewable energy, cryptocurrency/blockchain, healthcare and biotech sectors. Shahryar is currently Co-Founder & Chief Carbon Officer of Argali Carbon Corporation a Benefit Corporation focused on carbon offset development. Shahryar is also Co-Founder and General Partner of Argali Climate Fund. He was previously the Managing Partner & Head of Diabetes Platform for Diomics Corporation, a biotech company based in San Diego, that develops gap technologies for markets where they can make a humanitarian difference based on immediate market access. Previously, Shahryar was a Partner of Rose Capital, a leading legal cannabis private equity fund with a focus n driving value creation initiatives throughout the portfolio companies. He also helped lead Investor Relations and Fundraising on behalf of Rose Capital, sourced deals, and developed new strategic initiatives. Previous to joining Rose Capital, Shahryar spent 8 years as an Operating Partner of Pegasus Capital Advisors, a U.S. Middle Market private equity firm that managed $1.8 billion in assets with a focus on sustainability and health/wellness. He has served on the boards of: Six Senses Hotels Resorts & Spas, GYRO HSR and ZeroBase Energy. Before that, Shahryar was Co-Founder and Managing Partner of OC Global Partners, an advisory firm specializing in business development and operations consulting services focused on the Middle East, China, and the North American markets. Through his leadership at OC he has advised some of the largest private equity firms in the U.S. and China. Shahryar graduated from NYU’s Stern School of Business with a B.S. in Information Systems & International Business. Shahryar currently serves on the board of Argali Carbon Corporation, AR Ventures & Todd English Enterprises.
