Matthew Siegel is the Head of Marketing at Skillit.com. He was previously the founder of Silicon Bowery, and prior to that was the CMO and Head of Global Client Group of Aperture Investors, a disruptive asset manager reinventing the model for active management. His career has focused on the application of new technologies and digital marketing strategies to industries undergoing transformation, primarily in media and entertainment. Most recently, served as the Chief Digital Officer of Roc Nation, where he oversaw digital operations, strategy and investments for the company’s three business verticals - music, sports and luxury goods. Roc Nation is a diversified entertainment company founded by JAY Z representing hundreds of artists and athletes from Rihanna and Shakira to Kevin Durant and Dez Bryant. Prior to joining Roc Nation Siegel was the strategy lead and a founding member of the Ripcord incubator at Viacom, developing new consumer experiences for the future of media. Previously he was the Vice President of Music Strategy for Viacom Music Group and led strategy, business development and marketing for MTV, VH1 and CMT’s new music platforms and initiatives Previously Siegel was Co-Founder of Indaba Music, a crowdsourcing platform for over 1 million artists and brands creating audio and video content that reaches nearly 10 million fans monthly. Siegel developed groundbreaking campaigns for all 4 major record labels, over 200 major recording artists including Linkin Park, Mariah Carey, Yo-Yo Ma, and numerous marquee brands including Converse and Red Bull. In 2010 Siegel was named a Billboard “30 Under 30″ Power Player for the music industry. Siegel remains active in the startup community, advising and investing in new media and technology companies. Siegel first got his start in entertainment starring in the Golden Globe-winning, Emmy-nominated CBS-TV series Brooklyn Bridge. He holds an A.B. in Economics from Harvard and an M.P.A. in International Economic Policy and Management.
