Adam Lipman

"Mr. Adam Lipman is a co-founder and Managing Partner at Ecliptic Capital. He is a professional senior executive with decades of experience directing operations in the biotechnology, software, and software services verticals. Over the course of his career, Mr. Lipman has held nearly a dozen advisory and board observer roles. Currently, Mr. Lipman is a board observer for Sourced Craft Cocktails, Unchained Capital, Pervasive Sensor Systems and Patchr. Mr. Lipman’s role at Ecliptic Capital highlights his unique skill in coaching emergent leadership by implementing scalable operations and strategic management practices that have been integral to the success of the fund’s investments to date. Mr. Lipman specializes in developing and managing startup operations for companies that are positioned to scale. In a previous role as COO of Chaotic Moon, an enterprise mobile and web services developer and consultancy, Mr. Lipman’s background in contract negotiation, process design, and resource management was integral to the company’s rapid growth from early revenue to its acquisition by Accenture. Mr. Lipman went on to serve as interim COO for Handsome, a talented digital agency seeking to scale. As an operational board advisor, he was integral to streamlining processes and helped the company achieve rapid growth. Mr. Lipman has a significant background in enterprise biotechnology R&D and manufacturing. He rose through the ranks at pioneering genetic engineering firm Genentech, where he helped commission what was at the time the largest and most technically advanced biopharmaceutical production facility in the world. He also led the creation of training and compliance management protocols for cell culture-based production processes. Eventually, he assumed budgetary oversight responsibilities for a function supporting Genentech’s global manufacturing network. Following Genentech’s merger with international biotechnology conglomerate Roche, he managed a global support organization through process and systems integration. Mr. Lipman holds an MBA and a BS in Molecular Biology from the University of California Davis."
