Andrew Atwell

Andrew (Andy) Atwell has over two decades of experience in the healthcare and life science markets in both business development and molecular biology research roles. As Sr. Manager of Business Development for Samsung Open Innovation Center, Mr. Atwell is responsible for technology sourcing in the areas of connected health, biotechnology, and medical devices for partnering, licensing and venture investment. Mr. Atwell is also a Board member of the Continua Health Alliance – a membership-driven company focused on developing an eco-system of interoperable personal health devices. Prior to joining Samsung 7 years ago, Mr. Atwell held sales and marketing roles at Cepheid, a molecular diagnostic company, and Scientist positions at Agilent and Hewlett Packard Laboratories. He holds 2 patents from his work on diagnostic DNA micro-arrays at HP Labs. Mr. Atwell earned his BA in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
