Robin E. Haak (born 1986) is a German political scientist, tech entrepreneur, and investor from Hanover. Early life and education Robin Eric Haak was born in Hanover, where he also completed his Abitur (German secondary school diploma). He studied political science with a focus on history, as well as law and economics, at the University of Salzburg (B.A.). He later earned an MBA in media management from the Hamburg Media School and the University of Hamburg. Career Haak began his career at Versace in New York. He later worked for Axel Springer SE in Berlin, including at Axel Springer Digital Ventures, and co-founded the Axel Springer Plug and Play Accelerator. Through this program, he became the first investor in the fintech company N26. After his time at Axel Springer, Haak co-founded and served as Managing Director of Jobspotting GmbH. The company later merged with SmartRecruiters Inc., where he served as Managing Partner and Global Chief Operating Officer (COO). Under his leadership, SmartRecruiters grew into a unicorn and is currently in the acquisition process by software company SAP. He also co-founded Wo\men Inc. UG, where he served as Chief Marketing Officer, and is a shareholder and board member of other companies. As a founder and senior executive at Jobspotting and SmartRecruiters, he was involved in raising more than 200 million USD and led over 250 employees in the United States and Europe. Haak has built teams, developed brand identities, designed marketing campaigns, and implemented high-level strategies, with a focus on M&A, fundraising, and scaling software companies. Investor activities Haak has invested in and helped build more than 60 early-, growth-, and late-stage companies, including N26, Runtastic, Frontify, Aircall, GetAccept, Kombo, and ARX Robotics. From January 2021 to the end of 2023, he served as a member of the advisory board of Stepstone, one of the world’s leading recruiting platforms. He was a co-founder of the growth equity fund Revaia (Germany/France), which has an ESG focus and a crossover investment strategy (private and publicly listed companies). The first fund raised €250 million, exceeding its original target of €200 million. Today, Revaia manages around €600 million in assets under management (as of July 2025) and has invested in companies including Aircall, Epsor, GetAccept, gohenry, Planity, Welcome to the Jungle, and Yubo. Robin Capital In 2023, Haak founded his own venture capital fund, Robin Capital, as a solo GP, with €15 million in committed capital. The fund focuses primarily on early-stage European B2B SaaS companies.
