Founder and CEO of Urban Purveyor Group, John Szangolies is one of the leading forces in Australian hospitality. With 18 restaurants and bars across NSW, Victoria and QLD, as well as a bespoke beverage import business and commissary kitchen, Urban Purveyor Group comprises some of the country’s most notable venues. Originating in 1976 with the legendary Löwenbräu Keller, the group also includes The Argyle and Bavarian Bier Cafés across Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Further, Urban Purveyor Group’s dining venues have proven to be formidable additions to the Australian restaurant scene. In 2013, Ananas Bar & Brasserie was named Best New Restaurant at Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering Awards, and received its first Chef’s Hat from the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide.
