Newton Asare II

Newton Asare II is currently the Managing Director of Dream Maker Ventures (Diversity Fund) and Startup Advisor for HartNamtemah. His entrepreneurial journey over the past few years has focused on supporting the digital transformation of the Canadian insurance industry. This has included being the cofounder and former CEO of an industry leading B2B digital management platform for P&C brokerages (ClientDesk), as well as leading an award-winning, digital-first insurance brokerage in Dream Insurance. His experience as a founder has given him the opportunity to raise capital from angel, strategic, and institutional investors. As a business development lead, he has worked with corporate, government, and early-stage startup organizations. As a CEO, he has been able to build and lead management, sales, and development teams. Newton also has experience within incubator and accelerator environments as an alumnus of the Ryerson DMZ, Ryerson Futures Inc., BMO Next Big thing in Fintech as well as the Plug and Play Tech Accelerator’s first InsurTech program in Sunnyvale, California. He graduated with a business degree from Centennial College in 2008, and has also attended the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management and Creative Institute for Toronto's Young Leaders programs.
