David Coats

David has more than 25 years of experience as both a VC and entrepreneur. He created the original vision for Correlation Ventures, motivated to apply the power of predictive analytics to venture investing, and to offer entrepreneurs and lead VCs a much better option when forming syndicates. David has spent most of his career in life sciences, including as a partner at Hamilton Biosciences, Windamere Ventures, and Forge Medical Ventures. He was the founder of Spine Wave, and served on the board of Egea Biosciences through its acquisition by J&J. He was also on the senior management team of UroMed Corporation as it raised venture capital and ultimately went public. He graduated summa cum laude and phi beta kappa with a degree in biology from Princeton University, and received an MBA from Harvard.
