Ela Borenstein

Ms. Ela Borenstein serves as Managing Partner at BDC Healthcare Venture. She joined BDC Venture Capital in 2007 and has over 20 years of management, entrepreneurial and consulting experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. She also serves on the Board of Thrasos Therapeutics. Prior to joining BDC, she was Chief Operating Officer at a VC-backed biotech and previously held the position of Vice President in clinical, regulatory affairs and product strategy for various companies, as well as Senior Vice President of Scientific Affairs for Technilab Pharma during the company’s successful IPO. Her diversified background includes senior management responsibilities in drug and medical device development as well as key involvement in product acquisition and M&A activities. She is a Kauffman Fellow Class 17, a society for leaders in venture capital. Ela is an advisor and guest lecturer with several organizations and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Alethia Biotherapeutics and Milestone Pharma where she is active in their audit and compensation committees. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Western Ontario, a Master of Science in Pharmacology from the University of Toronto and an MBA in Bio-Industries from Université du Québec à Montréal.
