Matias Van Thienen

Matias Van Thienen is a Partner at Founders Fund. Since joining the team in 2018, he has led or played a role in the firm’s investments in Trade Republic, Modern Health, LeafLink, Figma, RigUp, Scale AI, Newfront Insurance, Luko, Belvo and Solugen. Previously he worked at Insight and CapitalG, where he invested in companies such as UiPath, CrowdStrike, Qualtrics, Looker and ezCater. He also led Corp Dev at Wallapop, a mobile marketplace in Europe, where he was responsible for strategy, fundraising and M&A. He holds a BS in Finance and Information Systems from NYU Stern. Matias is originally from Buenos Aires, and has lived in Miami, New York, Shanghai and Barcelona. He’s an avid kite surfer and skier.
