J. Neil Weintraut has been involved with Internet businesses dating back to its initial commercialization in 1994. Neil is presently an Advisory Member of Motus Ventures. Neil co-founded and co-ran Palo Alto Venture Partners focusing on Internet businesses and produced five public-offerings and one significant acquisition out of 18 total investments. At PAVP Neil's investment and board involvement included CareerBuilder (OTC-CBDR and subsequently acquired by Knight-Ridder), AdForce (OTC-ADFC and subsequently acquired by CMGI), Nextance (acquired by Versata). Prior to PAVP, Neil was an Internet Analyst at Hambrecht & Quist, underwriting Internet pioneers such as Checkpoint Software, cNet, Netscape, and UUNET Technologies. Neil was also an advisor to the International Olympic Committee on the application of the Internet to the Olympic Games. Neil is on the board of advisors of the MIT/Stanford Venture Lab. He worked as a design engineer at Daisy Systems, and IBM. Neil has an MBA from The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, and a BSEE from Drexel University.
