Paul Burton

Expertise in leadership, finance, law and entrepreneurship. Co-Founder & Managing Partner of 2Flo Ventures and CEO of Akan Biosciences. Akan is a clinical stage biotech focused on regenerative medicine. Over the last decade Paul has served as CEO or CFO for Vivacelle Bio, ResQ Pharma, Temprian Therapeutics and Cancer IQ. He is a member of the Chicago Biomedical Consortium (CBC) Venture Committee and a Trustee of Ravinia Festival. He has over 25 years experience in corporate finance, investment management and strategic planning. He started his career as an investment banking associate with Salomon Brothers in 1998 (now Citigroup). He worked as a lab assistant in undergrade for 4 years earning 3 co-authorships in articles published in peer-reviewed pharmacology journals. He is a former US Regular Army Commissioned Officer (Infantry).​
