Mario Peña

Mario is a Senior Analyst at Carao Ventures. He is responsible for generating and assessing new investment opportunities and assisting portfolio company founders with strategy and operations decisions. Before joining the firm, he worked as a Senior Financial Analyst for two years at Garnier & Garnier, one of the leading real estate development companies in Central America. Prior to working in Garnier & Garnier, Mario worked as Financial Analyst at American International Group (AIG) in Houston, a leading insurance company worldwide. Mario holds a dual degree with honors with honors from The University of Texas at Austin in finance and economics with a minor in accounting. While at the university he cofounded The Developing Economist, the first undergraduate research journal in the country dedicated to encouraging and promoting outstanding research in economics at the undergraduate level.
