Jade Garrett is an accomplished entrepreneur, innovator, and clean energy leader. She is the founder and owner of Positive Deviancy, a platinum level connector organization in the Department of Energy’s American-Made Challenge program. Over the past 6 years, she has supported over 500 renewable energy startups and organizations since September 2019, helping them raise $15M in innovation funding and $45M in Grants. Most recently, she founded and launched Positive Deviancy's Embryia Accelerator Studio that provides tiered support services to early-stage renewable energy hard tech startups with zero exclusion. They receive free support (0% equity and no Fee) to benchmark solar and battery tech startup hardware so it can be matched with field pilot community champion partners (Primarily in Rural or Underserved Locations) all over the US. Jade loves being directly engaged with innovators and startups that are taking action to solve climate change. The majority of her work for the past 15 years has been primarily focused in the entrepreneurship, renewable energy, hardware, rapid prototyping, and robotics space, she fully understands how to elevate and empower renewable energy startups to access idea stage funding to launch. She is one of the 2% of female founders who have raised VC investment, managed multiple hardware makerspaces, and has served on the Virginia Governor's Council for Youth Entrepreneurship.
