Muralidhara Kadaba (Murli) is the founder and CMD of Moonbeam Capital, a boutique Advisory & Investment Firm that specializes in early stage mentoring and selective funding of businesses founded by accomplished professionals with rich experience in Luxury Products, Financial Services, CRM & Analytics, Media & Entertainment, Education & Skill enhancement and Mobile technology. Murli leverages his expertise in building start-ups of substantial scale, his execution competence and his access to a network of professionals to provide strategic, administrative, financial and business development support to these start-ups. The firm aims to assist Start-Ups get razor sharp focus, reduce time to market, minimize cash burn and achieve faster profitability. Helping companies achieve scale and success by generating Positive Cash flow and dividend paying ability is the firm’s “Mantra” rather than engineering valuation and quick exits. Murli has over 20 years of corporate experience, with proven expertise in general management, Sales & Distribution, payment products, consumer banking, wealth management, consumer lending, marketing, new category development, analytics and brand management. Murli combines intuition with analytical abilities and has a bias for organization building and sound strategy. He has worked at the helm in several start-up projects where speed and execution were key to success. Murli till recently served as the President and Chief Executive of Financial Services vertical at Reliance Retail Ltd. where he was able to build India’s first Loyalty & Financial Services business in retail spanning 850 stores across 79 cities around the country in record time by leveraging technology, decision science, store network, customer access and innovative product management. Prior to joining Reliance in 2006, Murli worked for American Express for eight years where he was the Country Manager for India and Area Countries since 2001. Earlier, Murli was Vice President and Head of Investment Products at Citibank-India. In his nine years with Citi, Murli played several key roles across Operations, Technology, Business Planning & Analysis, new business and product launches. Murli also has a couple of years of work experience on the shop floor of a Suzuki JV as an engineer. Murli has served on the boards of American Chamber Of Commerce and Financial Planning Standards Board. He continues to serve as an Advisor to Reliance Industries Ltd., is a member of the advisory board of Indian Institute of Learning Management, is an active member of Young Presidents Organization and a Charter Member of Tie. Murli is an alumnus of XLRI, Jamshedpur and is a Graduate in Mechanical Engineering from SJCE, Mysore.
