Roman Rittweger

Once a change maker, always a change maker: Roman is an experienced serial entrepreneur with a PhD in Medicine and an MBA from INSEAD. Always in the search for the next game changer in healthcare, Roman is an expert in developing and introducing visionary and pioneering health projects. 

He started his career in management consulting. In his first startup, he was the Founder and CEO of almeda, a demand and disease management service provider for health insurances. Prior to founding ottonova, he ran his own healthcare innovation conference as well as his boutique consultancy. 

ottonova is a German digital, data driven full stack health insurance. In 2022, ottonova was named the health insurer with the highest customer satisfaction for the fourth time in a row in a benchmarking study among private health insurers.   At the turn of the year 2022/2023, Roman withdrew from the operational business and has since been Chair of ottonova's Supervisory Board.
