Claudio Barahona is a Venture Capital and Innovation leader with over a decade of experience investing in and supporting high-growth startups across Latin America. He founded his first startup at the age of 18, which he successfully exited six years later. A Civil Industrial Engineer from Universidad de Chile, he has devoted much of his career to promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in Chile and the broader LATAM region. As Managing Partner at Alaya Capital, he led the fundraising and deployment of a $30M early-stage fund, building a portfolio of 20+ tech-driven companies and managing a team of nine professionals. Previously, Claudio spearheaded Telefónica’s Corporate Venture Capital strategy in Chile, investing in 45 startups and generating strategic and financial returns for the corporation—including $4M in new revenue through startup-corporate integrations in a single year. He is also the founder of ComoLevantarCapital.com, a fundraising platform that has empowered over 1,000 entrepreneurs across Latin America, and is an active angel investor and startup mentor. Deeply committed to ecosystem development, Claudio served on the board of the Chilean Venture Capital Association (ACVC) and founded the Corporate Venturing Latam Report to map and analyze CVC trends throughout the region.
