On a lifelong mission to build software that augments human cognition, Carson Kahn serves as Chief Product & AI Officer and co-founder of Spindle AI (spindle.ai), an agentic business analytics startup backed by Accel Partners (Cursor/Perplexity/Atlassian), Caffeinated Capital (Airtable/Notion/IFTTT), and diverse Fortune 100 executives. Previously, he served as President of Brainspace AI (acquired by Reveal with $200 million from K1 Capital), an industry-leading natural language analytics engine incubated by the CIA. Named a Goldman Sachs 100 Entrepreneur for “first-principles innovation across generative AI & Natural Language Processing”, Mr. Kahn’s work has been covered in the Wall Street Journal, Harvard Business Review, Bloomberg, and elsewhere. He has been tapped for expertise in machine learning, cybersecurity, and cross-border venture capital flows by the National Economic Council (NEC); Congressional Caucus on AI; and Center on Terrorism, Extremism, and Counterterrorism (CTEC), where he today also serves as Senior Advisor for Machine Learning in Counterintelligence. Mr. Kahn formerly worked as CEO (promoted from Founding CTO) of JPMorgan In–Residence business Volley ML, saving Fortune 500 firms millions in real labor annually with world’s first autonomous Natural Language Generation platform for heavily regulated industries (HIGs). Mr. Kahn designed, engineered, and commercialized Volley’s GPT-like technology for training & enablement use-cases with a world-class team from Google, the NSA & CIA, Stanford, and the Fortune 100—with backing from JPMorgan, Silicon Valley Bank, Goldman Sachs executives, and Zuckerberg Ventures—before being recruited to lead & restructure Brainspace AI ahead of its acquisition. Today, he also serves on the Boards or Advisory Boards of the University of Colorado (College of Computer Science); Stanford University AII; and UCSC Center for Excellence in Data Science Research; and supports DeepTech startups in ML/NLP, go-to-market, and product development as an angel investor & Techstars Mentor. Mr. Kahn invests as a Venture Partner with Thiel- and Andreesen-backed VC firm Social Impact Capital, the $100 million Pandemic Impact Fund (PIF), and Transpire Ventures. He was formerly affiliated with Google (via the ATLAS Institute), the Bloomberg New Economy Forum (NEF), and the founding team of Vetica.com. A Black Belt in Karate & eager sportsman, he can sometimes be found on the (literal) floor of a racquetball court; or else improvising jazz piano tunes to the (general) delight of his wife, Seda, at their home near the Embarcadero in San Francisco, California.
