Karel Komárek is a Czech-born business leader, global investor, and philanthropist, best known as the founder and chairman of KKCG, a diversified investment group with operations spanning more than 40 countries. Recognised as a driving force in European business, Komárek has built a reputation for pioneering growth across sectors including energy, gaming, technology, and real estate. Komárek launched his entrepreneurial career in 1992 with a modest industrial valve business. Just three years later, he established KKCG, which has since evolved into a major global investment group. Under his leadership, KKCG has expanded into a portfolio of high-impact sectors, including but not limited to: Energy: Through the acquisition of Moravské Naftové Doly (MND Group), KKCG entered the European energy market, with operations in hydrocarbon exploration, production, storage, and distribution, as well as a rapidly expanding presence in the field of renewable energy, including geothermal, wind, and solar. Gaming & Lotteries: Komárek has overseen the transformation of Sazka Group into Allwyn, a leading lottery-led entertainment and gaming businesses, active in key markets including the UK, United States, Austria, Greece, Czech Republic, and Italy. Technology: Through ARICOMA Group, KKCG has made strategic moves in IT services and digital transformation, including the acquisition of custom software developer Avenga, and is now a major European player in IT. Real Estate: In Central Europe, KKCG has led the development of major real estate projects such as the Bořislavka Center, blending commercial and cultural spaces. Komárek is known for championing sustainable business practices, forward-looking investment, and a commitment to long-term societal value. His leadership style combines entrepreneurial risk-taking with a dedication to cultural and community engagement. Together with his wife, Štěpánka, Komárek co-founded the Karel Komárek Family Foundation (KKFF). The foundation supports: - The internationally renowned Dvořák Prague International Music Festival (which he co-founded) - Pianos for Schools, a national programme created by KKFF equipping Czech schools with quality musical instruments - Emergency and community recovery efforts, including a CZK 150 million contribution toward rebuilding following the 2021 tornado in South Moravia Komárek’s dedication to the arts has been acknowledged with several honours, most notably the Gold Medal in the Artsfrom the John F.
