Maria Juesas Portelés

Maria is a seasoned venture capital professional with over 12 years in alternative investments. Before joining VSquared, she led Venture Capital and co-investment strategy at Pragma and served as Principal at Promus Ventures, a US-based deep tech VC. She began her VC career at Banco Sabadell Corporate Venture Capital, focusing on Fintech and Insurtech investments. Maria started in hedge funds, specializing in Global Macro Emerging Markets and energy infrastructure, and has worked across New York, London, and Madrid. An active advisor and angel investor, she supports early-stage companies through a micro-VC firm. She holds a BA from University of North Carolina and an MBA from Imperial College and CUHK. Passionate about nature sports, Maria embraces lifelong learning and academic exploration.
