Tim Barnes

AXIS was founded in 2018 by Tim Barnes, a highly successful debt investment professional. Prior to launching AXIS, Tim had over a decade of direct lending and credit risk management experience at Silicon Valley Bank (Nasdaq: SIVB) and Hercules Capital (NYSE: HTGC), during which time he closed over $1 billion in debt commitments to approximately 100 businesses, and co-invested with over 125 Venture Capital and Private Equity firms. For AXIS clients and relationships, Tim brings substantial Bank and Non-Bank lending experience to the table along with a high degree of professionalism and integrity. Early in his career, Tim served six years as an Officer in the U.S. Air Force in operational and technology development roles.
