Paul Szurek

Paul Szurek is a partner at Smash Capital based in New York, where he makes $20-500 million equity investments into growth stage fintech, enterprise software, consumer internet companies. Paul has led Smash's investments into Equi, Bilt, Blockchain.com, Pearl AI, TradingView, and Finvari. Prior to Smash, Paul was the Head of Venture Capital investing at Juxtapose and an investor at Insight Partners. At Insight, Paul led or co-led the investment of over $1 billion in equity capital across 15 companies and represented the firm in 11 board roles. Investments Paul led at Insight include Monday.com, Insightful Sciences, TradingView, OpenWeb, Divvy, SimpleNexus, Quantum Metric, VNDLY, ContractPod and Simscale, in addition to supporting investments in Vinted, Sift, Delivery Hero, Hellofresh and Qualtrics. Paul started his career on the operating side of technology businesses: first as a management consultant for Bain & Company working with software and Internet media clients, and later running product and business development at Blockchain.com during the early development of the Bitcoin ecosystem. Paul graduated Summa Cum Laude from Wake Forest University with a B.S. in Mathematical Economics and Spanish where he received a fully funded academic merit scholarship.
