A native of southern Vermont, Ross Cameron graduated from the prestigious Dublin School college prep academy in New Hampshire before securing his bachelor’s degree in education from Vermont College. Entering a post-college job climate that was frozen — thanks to the Great Recession — he quickly transitioned to alternative methods of making a living. Driven by an interest in the stock market that dated back to elementary school, he initially struggled to find success as a day trader. Today, he is well known for turning an initial day trading account of just $583.15 into a diverse investment portfolio that has generated more than $10 million in verified and audited profits. The secret to Ross Cameron’s success is the momentum trading strategy that he discovered when his account fell beneath the minimum needed to trade. Using this time to examine his past trades for a span of two years, he began to see a pattern that had the potential to generate exceptional returns. In a nutshell, the momentum trading strategy involves trading stocks up to 20%, 30%, or more per day. Realizing that a focus on large-cap stocks like Apple were holding him back, Ross Cameron decided to concentrate primarily on small-cap stocks with exchange prices between $2 and $10. As Ross Cameron began to find success, he felt compelled to educate others about the value of his momentum trading strategy. In addition to his undergraduate degree in education, he was born into and raised by a family of educators. Sharing the benefits of his expertise has always been near and dear to his heart and soul. In 2012, Ross Cameron began writing about his day trading experiences through the Warrior Trading blog. By 2013, he had started to post informative videos on YouTube. He opened a day trading chat room and began teaching day-trading classes in 2014. He published the instructional book How to Day Trade in 2015. Ross Cameron subsequently conceived of a plan to test his theories and show that his momentum trading strategy can work even in a small account. Funding a tiny day trading account with $583.15 in 2017, he grew it to just over $10 million by the end of 2022. Today, Ross Cameron continues to generate considerable profits as a day trader and share his trading insights with others through Warrior Trading and other initiatives. As he puts it, he lives his life from task list to task list. “When I finish trading, it’s time to dig into my Warrior Trading task list,” he says. “Often the first tasks will be related to trading, including producing content around my daily trading day and uploading archives of my trading for students. One of the challenges in my role is that I wear many hats, so to speak. I don’t feel like a traditional CEO. I actually sort of reject that term as it feels too ‘corporate,’ and I never wanted to work for ‘the man.’” Ross Cameron lives in the Berkshires region of western Massachusetts with his wife and two sons. When he isn’t working or spending time with his family, he likes to sail, play tennis and ride his mountain bike. He is also an avid automotive aficionado who enjoys restoring classic cars. He even has a blog devoted to this hobby, “Tire Kickers by Ross Cameron.”
