Dave Kapnick is the Managing Director and CFO at Andersen Tax. Dave Kapnick is a Venture Partner with Physic Ventures, serving as an independent member of the firm’s Investment Committee since February 2013. Dave brings over 30 years of financial management and entrepreneurial experience to the team, and contributes actively to the consideration of follow-on investments, exit opportunities and other strategic portfolio management decisions. In addition to his role at Physic Ventures, Dave is currently engaged in financial consulting and interim CFO work with emerging growth companies in a variety of industry sectors. Dave previously served as Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of Table Rock Capital, an independent infrastructure fund manager specializing in asset formation, risk management, project finance and asset management. Table Rock's investment focus included transportation, communications, energy, social infrastructure, water and waste treatment facilities in the US and Canada. From 1999 to 2009, Dave worked extensively in venture capital in Silicon Valley, including five years as Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of Newbury Ventures, an early stage venture fund with over $300 million under management, and five years as Chief Financial Officer of Broadview Capital Partners, a $250 million private equity fund focused on expansion capital investments in the IT, communications and digital media industries. Before entering the world of venture capital, Dave worked as Chief Financial Officer of C&L Financial and Park Lane Hotels International, managing the finance and accounting functions for the U.S. operations of a Hong Kong-based hotel and real estate development organization. Dave began his professional career as a CPA with Arthur Andersen & Co., working primarily with start-ups, emerging growth technology companies and other closely held companies in the San Francisco Bay Area, plus a two-year expatriate assignment working with multinational corporations in Oslo, Norway. Dave earned an A.B., magna cum laude, in management science and psychology from Duke University and an M.B.A. from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College. Dave is a California CPA (inactive) and previously served as a Founding Board Member of VCBC, the leading membership organization for finance professionals at venture capital firms, and as a volunteer mentor for the Global Social Venture Competition at Haas Business School. Dave currently serves on the Board of the Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence, the only national law center focused exclusively on providing comprehensive legal expertise in support of gun violence prevention, and previously served on the Board of Visitors of the Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke University
