Roland Manger is a co-founder and partner of Earlybird, an investment fund-based in Europe that focuses on emerging companies. He was a board member of abaXX Technology AG, where he was a driving force behind its sale to Cordys; also, as Board member of Purple Labs, Roland co-initiated its sale to Esmertec AG, which listed on the Swiss Exchange. Further, he was a board member of Scoreloop AG, which was sold to RIM. Roland also served on the board of Myriad Software Group AG and UPEK. He gained entrepreneurial experience when he joined the founder team of Cybernet AG, a provider of internet and system integration services which was subsequently listed on NASDAQ and the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and later sold to PSINet and at Ditec AG, where he was Director of Business Development. Previously, he worked as a strategy consultant and principal with Gemini Consulting in the telecom and media industries. He studied business, operations research and computer science at the University of Karlsruhe, Germany, graduating with a degree. Roland has an MBA from Georgetown University in Washington D.C.
