Starting businesses has always been my passion. When I was 15 I set up my first proper company called Pixel Crunch. It’s an internet and media company and it utilises the power of social media to put out information. There was a blog website, a YouTube channel, an Instagram account; you name it and we were probably on it. I currently employed around 12 people who, when they turned up for an interview, were a bit surprised that a 15-year-old was conducting it, but they put their trust in me and are still worked till its closure. This has been one of the best ventures I have undertaken out of my comfort zone, and I only wish I have more time now to dedicate to it. During my time at Cisco I was fascinated at how such a massive company operates like clockwork. I was able to chat to different people at all stages of the management ladder and see how they work collaboratively. I think Cisco is unique in the way that it operates as most of the employees work from home or are in different offices and most of the work is done through video chat or instant messaging. Now I have started my own MSP (Managed Service Provider) called G1gabyte. Starting in March 2021 during lockdown I was able to grow the business to the stage where in June, the business now has a dedicated office space in Aberdeen and currently employs 4 team members.
