Akash Hegde

Akash Hegde is the Co-founder and MD of ShakeDeal. An internet entrepreneur and technology product leader, he was recently featured on the Forbes 30 under 30 Asia 2021 list for his contribution to the e-commerce sector. He had briefly enrolled at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur before deciding to pursue a fully funded undergraduate scholarship at the prestigious National University of Singapore. Consistently featured on the Dean’s List, he graduated Summa Cum Laude in Electrical Engineering and won multiple accolades while at NUS. Akash has over 8 years of rich work experience across product management, business operations, and strategy roles. He has played an instrumental role in building world-class products for leading product tech companies in the SaaS and E-Commerce domains. While at Practo, he launched their main product offerings - Doctor Search and Practice Management Software - in international markets such as Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. At Shopee, he was a part of the early product team that launched the e-commerce site and mobile app simultaneously across 7 countries, clocking over $200M+ GMV in 6 months of going live. He is now dedicating his energy towards solving exciting pain points in the B2B procurement and supply chain sector. In his time off-work, he likes reading the Economic Times and dissecting other businesses and their business models.
