Don Basile is an entrepreneur and high tech investor with 20 years of experience in technology, telecommunications, and healthcare. Don Basile is currently an investor at a Stealth Mode Mobile Startup. Founded last year, the startup is a mobile API based cloud infrastructure company providing geo-location relevant content and capabilities as part of the "Lego" global silicon valley. While working as Violin’s CEO, Don Basile leads the company’s operations and provides strategic direction. Basile brings experience driving innovation, having managed the growth and sales of companies valued at more than $2B. Basile was Chairman and CEO of Fusion-io and pioneered the use of PCIe flash cards for servers and workstations. In his first year as CEO the company achieved over $10M in sales, developed the infrastructure to support over 300 global enterprise customers, and earned a Red Herring Global 100 award. Previously, Basile served as Vice President of United Health Group, the nation’s largest healthcare company and member of the Fortune 50. United’s commercial software division, which sells software and related services to the entire healthcare industry, grew from $560M to $1.2B in revenue during his tenure. As Vice President of Lenfest (acquired by Comcast for $5B), Don pioneered the use of Internet technologies in the cable ad market, as well as digital advertising insertion and VOD technologies. Don worked for the CEOs of Internet pioneers Remarq (acquired for $300M) providing cloud services to Excite, Ebay, Lycos, Amazon, and other Internet brands and Netfish technologies (acquired for $272M), a pioneer of B2B Internet commerce. Don spent four years as Managing Director of Raza Foundries, a Silicon Valley venture investment company which invested in software, systems, and semiconductor companies. Don holds M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Stanford University.
