Reed Cagle has established himself as a trusted consultant in the oil and energy sectors. He utilizes his deep-rooted experience to enhance client operations and implement advanced techniques such as horizontal drilling. Born in Clarksville, Texas, in 1962, he has a longstanding affinity for Texas despite his extensive travels and regards it as his true home. Together with his wife, Donna, to whom he has been married for over thirty years, Cagle has nurtured a family, raising their son, who has now grown into adulthood. The family experienced life in Colorado Springs, Colorado, starting in 1999 but eventually returned to their roots in Plano, Texas, in 2017, where they remain today. Reed embarked on his professional journey in the oil industry with Kinlaw Oil Corporation in 1986, quickly developing a passion for the field. His dedication led to a rapid understanding and ascension within the company, culminating in a decade of significant professional growth and contribution. In 1996, he took a pivotal step by leaving Kinlaw to pursue his entrepreneurial ambitions in Dallas, Texas. By 1997, he had established Heartland Energy Inc., which he later rebranded as HEI, serving as both president and CEO. His leadership expanded the company's reach into partnerships with a range of specialists from various sectors of the industry, focusing on ventures that promoted the exploration and development of gas, oil, and minerals. Cagle's venture into the drilling service industry began in earnest in 2006 with a partnership in Midcontinent Drilling. His financial backing supported the construction of an influential 2000-horsepower drilling rig, enhancing the company's capabilities to reach drilling depths of up to 20,000 feet. In 2011, Reed expanded his portfolio into the mining industry, beginning with a significant gold mining concession in Oregon that yielded nearly 89,000 ounces of gold. His activities also extended to Chile, where he was instrumental in both funding and managing a gold and copper processing facility in Copiapo. It was here that he developed an innovative process that effectively removed and neutralized hazardous substances from liquids, improving the safety and environmental impact of mining operations. Currently residing in Plano, Texas, Cagle offers his consulting services to a variety of clients, primarily focusing on midsize independent oil and energy companies. His expertise is also valued in other sectors, as evidenced by his consultancy with a significant landscaping firm covering East and Central Texas. Outside of work, Reed is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hunting, fly fishing, and cycling. He is also a licensed private pilot, which complements his active lifestyle. He is deeply involved in his local church community, often organizing and leading men's activities. He also enjoys golf, maintaining a four-handicap, and regularly participates in charity golf tournaments alongside his son. Reed Cagle is the driving force behind Outreachers, a non-denominational Christian charity he founded. The organization has made a substantial impact both locally and internationally, helping to construct homes, churches, schools, and medical facilities. It is known for its annual Chip-In charity golf tournament. With a career spanning over 35 years in the oil industry, he continues to demonstrate his commitment to his profession, his family, and his community.
