When I speak with founders, I try to understand if they have the ability to ignore the conventional wisdom and imagine the world as a blank slate, think bottom-up and challenge the status quo. Oftentimes, such founders are contrarian, have unique insights, and have a different view of the future. Working closely with them is the most rewarding part of my day. Dreaming about the various possible versions of the future and the paths that may lead to them is energizing. There are only a few experiences that are more intellectually stimulating than partnering with founders as they build legendary companies that reshape the future of the world.
