Jennifer Skyler

Jennifer Skyler is the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at American Express. A native of Flint, Michigan, and proud graduate of the University of Michigan, Skyler majored in Communications with a concentration in Japanese. Before joining American Express, Skyler was the Chief Communications Officer at the We Company. She was also the company’s first communications hire, building a multi-disciplinary department that spans corporate communications, consumer communications, public policy, government relations, public affairs, and corporate social responsibility. Prior to joining WeWork in 2016, Skyler built Facebook's consumer communications team from inception to a group of two dozen communications professionals and data scientists. She oversaw the announcements of key products and partnerships across news, sports, entertainment, and social good.A savvy media veteran, Skyler began her career in newsrooms, first at CNN where she rose the ranks from an executive assistant to a White House Producer. After her time at MSNBC, she became a producer at CBS Evening News, where she was nominated for an Emmy and won the Alfred I. duPont Award for political reporting with the team that worked on Katie Couric’s interview with Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palinin 2008.
