Weina Scott graduated with a degree in Computer Science and minor in Economics from Harvard College in 2011. She first gained attention as the founder of several successful technology companies including a company she sold (Switchpod.com) just a year after launch, when she was just 15 years old. Before it's acquisition, Switchpod.com was the second largest podcasting network in the world. Weina’s entrepreneurial endeavors were featured in Inc Magazine, Red Herring, Yahoo News, New York Post, NBC News, TechCrunch, Chicago Tribune, Miami Herald, Silicon Republic, New York Times, Irish Times, Mashable, The New Yorker, and Business Insider. She and Ignacio Leonhardt are the technical founders of venture-backed, Handy.com. At the young age of 21, she helped the company raise $2,000,000 (initial funding) from top venture capital firms (Highland Capital and General Catalyst) in less than three months. Handy, which has raised over $100Million dollars from renowned investors, was sold to ANGI Homeservices Inc in October of 2018. Weina actively advises and invests in technology companies that help empower people. Through her work as a founder and investor, Weina has become an advocate for technology and community initiatives that empower creative people and help businesses leverage the creative potential of their people.
