Joshua Dorkin is the founder and former CEO of BiggerPockets, launched on October 22, 2004. Mr. Dorkin's vision for BiggerPockets helped to propel it into becoming one of the top real estate destinations online. His vision for the site and its future brought national press attention to both Mr. Dorkin and to BiggerPockets. As the host of the BiggerPockets Podcast, he was able to help the show grow to become one of the tops in business, with over 60 million downloads. He also created the publishing business, BiggerPockets Publishing, one of the most successful independent publishers with over 14 titles distributed across stores and libraries nationally with millions in sales. He released his first book as an author, How to Invest in Real Estate, in the fall of 2018 alongside his co-author, Brandon Turner. In November 2018, he stepped back from the day to day running of BiggerPockets after bringing on a PE partner to the business and joined the board of directors. In January 2024, he exited the company and stepped down from the board to focus on new ventures. He is currently seeking out opportunities to speak on entrepreneurship, to advise other entrepreneurs and startups, and to invest.
