Hayden is a member of Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA), the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association (ASCA), the International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometry (ISAK), Sports Nutrition Association (SNA), Asia-Pacific Society for Physical Activity (ASPA) and the Hunter Medical Research Institute (HMRI). He is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) and Accredited Exercise Scientist (AES) after completing a Bachelor of Exercise Physiology at the University of New South Wales (UNSW). Hayden has also completed a Masters in High Performance Sport (MHPS) at the Australian Catholic University (ACU) and became an Accredited Sports Nutritionist (Accred.SpNut(O) after completing a Certificate of Applied Sports Nutrition. Through his experience with Diabetes Australia he developed a keen interest in working with individuals/athletes living with type 1 diabetes to better manage their condition. He is currently employed with Specialised Health as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist. Having come from a competitive background in strength and physique sports he has developed a passion for physical activity and particularly resistance training. After working with the New South Wales Waratahs Generation Blue Youth Performance Program and Wallaroos Australian Female Rugby Union Squad Hayden had an opportunity to apply the principles of strength and conditioning. Through continued learning, placement opportunities and experience in volunteer work Hayden has developed skills in exercise prescription for an array of patient pathologies including cardiovascular, metabolic, musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. Through a client centred approach to exercise prescription and education, he has an intention to help others attain better control over the determinants of their health, allowing them to achieve better health outcomes long term. Hayden has a strong belief that embodying his knowledge base and the fundamental values of a healthy lifestyle is integral in becoming a dedicated and enthusiastic health professional. Considering the dynamic nature of the field he has a willingness to continue to learn and develop his skills as an Exercise Physiologist working across a diverse range of populations.
