Jacques Ludik is the Vice President of Data Science & Chief Data Officer at JUMO. As an entrepreneur, he holds a Ph.D in Computer Science and has 20+ years’ experience in Advanced Analytics, AI, Machine Intelligence & Data Science and its applications. Jacques recently founded the Machine Intelligence Institute of Africa (MIIA) that aims to establish a world-class centre of excellence for Machine Intelligence and Data Science Research and Applications to help transform Africa. Jacques co-founded CSense Systems, an advanced analytics company which sold software and services to customers around the globe via an international reseller and solution partner network. General Electric acquired CSense in April 2011, where Jacques then held the roles of Big Data & Analytics Leader and Director of GE Intelligent Platforms. He also founded Cortex Logic, a company that delivers state-of-the-art Machine Intelligence solutions for enterprise, industrial, SME, home and personal use. Previously Jacques was a Computer Science Lecturer and Researcher at Stellenbosch University, where he completed his PhD. He published dozens of papers on Artificial & Computational Intelligence in Journals and International Conferences, as well as a book published by Cambridge University Press (UK). Jacques also has a patent filed for Knowledge Fusion.
