Lylan is a General Partner at White Star Capital. He is also a Kauffman Fellow. Lylan worked as a software engineer and in product management for 15 years prior to becoming a VC. Lylan joined the Atlas division of aQuantive in 2004 and helped lead the company’s Rich Media advertising technology platform, Targeting Product, User Experience, and Internationalization. In 2007, aQuantive was acquired by Microsoft for $6.2 billion. Lylan has also led Product organizations for 4 early stage companies: DoubleVerify, StrikeAd, Maxifier, and AskMe. Prior to joining early stage companies, Lylan worked at Microsoft as an engineer on WebTV, a technology evangelist for Microsoft Research, and in Product for the first version of Visual Studio .NET. Lylan also worked at Sierra Ventures, a San Francisco-based Venture Capital firm, and was a mentor at EastLabs, a startup accelerator in Kiev. Lylan holds a degree in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from Kellogg School of Management. Lylan has lived in Canada, and the east and west coasts of the US and now calls New York home.
