Preston Howell

Preston Howell is the Founder and CEO of SouthernPlex Group, Inc., a diversified media, tech, and venture development company that provides capital and focuses on growth intelligence, data driven strategies, and creative media. With over 15 years of executive experience spanning startup ventures, media, energy, and B2B marketing, Howell has launched and scaled multiple high-growth ventures recognized nationally for their impact and innovation. At SouthernPlex, Howell oversees venture development, strategic partnerships, and cross-industry growth initiatives, including the launch of SouthernPlex Media, the company’s entertainment and production division. He serves as Executive Producer for the upcoming television series Going For It!, based on the award-winning book by Paul Salfen. Outside of overseeing the vision and growth of the company, Howell is actively involved with coaching and strategy implementation for venture partners and clients across various industries. Prior to founding SouthernPlex, Howell co-founded O3 Energy, a top-ranked commercial solar development firm recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of the fastest-growing private companies in Texas. His leadership helped position O3 Energy among the top 10 solar developers in the U.S. in 2019 and established its presence as an industry leader across the U.S. and Pacific territories. Howell has also held executive and advisory roles across sectors including consumer wellness, emergency response, construction, and digital learning. He was previously a contributor on the Forbes Communications Council and his work has been featured in several publications including AP News, MarketWatch, Yahoo Finance, USA Today, and Solar Power World Magazine. He holds a B.B.A. in Entrepreneurship and Marketing from the University of North Texas.
