EXPERIENCED CALIFORNIA REAL ESTATE EXECUTIVE BRETT SHAVES As the president of Newport Commercial in Orange County, California for the past 16 years, Brett Shaves has purchased and developed industrial and commercial real estate in California, Arizona, and Hawaii. While leading Newport Commercial, he concurrently owned and operated the general contracting business, Emerald Pacific Corporation for nine years and Urban Village Development Company for four years. Brett Shaves is also the founding president of Pacific Coast Development and led the company for over 10 years. A graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity, Mr. Shaves lives in the coastal Orange County city of Newport Beach with his wife and kids. He became a municipal leader in 2002 when he accepted an appointment to the City of Newport Beach General Plan Committee. Brett Shaves is also an active member of the Mariner’s Church in nearby Irvine. He also belongs to several industry organizations, including the Urban Land Institute, Building Industry Association, and the International Council of Shopping Centers.
