Joshua Burgin

Joshua Burgin serves as the Chief Product Officer at Upwind Security, where he leads product development efforts to simplify cloud-native security for customers of Upwind’s Cloud Security Platform. Upwind not only bridges intelligence from runtime to build-time but also enhances collaboration among developers, security engineers, and DevOps teams, guaranteeing comprehensive cloud security precisely when and where it’s most critical. Before joining Upwind, Joshua was the VP of Product & Strategy for VMware’s Product & Cloud Services business, covering packaged software, cloud-based SaaS services, edge, and end-user solutions. He championed customer experience and software engineering consistency, particularly in onboarding, lifecycle management, DevOps, and security. Earlier, he contributed nearly a decade at AWS in a variety of executive roles, including General Manager for AWS Outposts business, Chief of Staff & Technical Advisor to Charlie Bell, and Director/General Manager in Compute Services. Prior to AWS, Joshua held product and technology executive roles at several startups, including Zynga, where he drove the development of their in-game advertising platform. Joshua started his career in 1997 as one of Amazon’s first 100 employees, developing software that powered Amazon’s explosive e-commerce growth. He is a sought-after keynote speaker on accelerating innovation, organizational development, DevOps and cloud computing, and holds over 20 patents.
