Angus Blair

Mr Blair is CEO of Signet LLC, a consultancy dedicated to the MENA region; helping businesses and investors forecast economic and political trends, risk analysis and due diligence. Mr Blair was previously a partner and head of development and research at Beltone Financial; head of product development/asset management at Al Rajhi Bank and MD of Safron Advisors, one of the first private equity firms in the MENA region. Previously, Mr Blair was head of equities, sales and trading for the MENA region and southern Europe at ING Barings and ABN AMRO, heading the team which started the first coverage of the MENA region by a global investment bank. He handled key ECM transactions in the development of the MENA region capital markets, including the first GDR in Egypt, CIB; the first funds to allow foreign investors in Saudi Arabia and Oman, and writing the first research on the MENA region capital markets and economies. He commenced UK coverage at Barings and then later started a new business at Barings when he was appointed head of all the developing markets from Portugal to Turkey and the Levant and Morocco to Egypt and all the GCC. He founded MENA Financial in 2002 as well as Signet in 2012 and he is an investor in several start-ups as well as a mentor to several companies.
