Ethan Agarwal is the CEO and co-founder of The Coterie, a fintech company that has raised $50m from Andreessen Horowitz, Initialized Capital, Gokul Rajaram, Naval Ravikant, and others. Previously, Ethan was the founder & CEO of Aaptiv, a digital fitness company. Aaptiv generate ~$100m in revenue and had over a million paying members in 20 countries. Aaptiv raised $70m from Insight Venture Partners, Pear, Amazon, Disney, and others. Aaptiv had a successful exit in 2021. Prior to launching Aaptiv, Ethan spent three years at McKinsey & Co, advising clients in technology, media, and financial industries. Previously, Ethan was an investor at LionEye Capital, a $2.5bn AUM hedge fund, focused on a merger arb strategy across energy, tech, and healthcare. Ethan began his career as an investment banker at Lehman Brothers, focused on healthcare M&A. Ethan holds a bachelor’s in economics, a second bachelor’s in political science, and a minor in entrepreneurship, all from the Johns Hopkins University. He earned his MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
