Philippe Lavielle

Philippe Lavielle is a veteran of the industrial biotech sector. Before joining Virdia as CEO in early 2011, he was a member of the management team at Genencor—a $1 billion world leader in industrial enzymes recently acquired by DuPont—where his responsibilities included global business development in the fields of renewable energy and biochemicals. A French national, Mr. Lavielle played an active role in establishing Genencor in Europe during the 1990s. During his tenure at Genencor, he was instrumental in developing key strategic partnerships with blue chip companies such as Procter & Gamble, DuPont and Goodyear that were fundamental to Genencor’s success.
