Raman Roy is the Chairman and Managing Director of Quatrro. He is a former Chairman at NASSCOM. He attended Shri Ram College of Commerce. Raman is widely regarded as the pioneer and “guru” of the BPO industry (also called the ‘IT Enabled Services’ industry) in India. He has played a pivotal role over the last 14 years in promoting Indian BPO and proving that India can be a preferred location for Remote Processing. Raman is a pioneer four times over, having successfully led the captive/third party BPO initiatives of American Express, GE Capital (now Genpact), and Spectramind (now Wipro BPO) out of India before starting Quatrro mid-2006, which is launched to focus on high-end BPO services. Raman is a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Management Accountant with a doctorate in Management Accountancy. In his career spanning 30+ years, Raman has a very hands-on approach to business and has first-hand experience and rare insights into servicing markets as diverse as North America, Europe, Japan, Asia Pacific, and Australia. As a tribute to his contribution to the BPO industry, he was awarded the Dataquest Pathbreaker Award in 2002 for directly creating 35,000+ jobs in India and indirectly enabling the employment of over 410,000 people by creating the BPO industry.
