John Sastry has had many roles in his extensive career. He has worked in several fields, from serving in the United States Army as an Intelligence Officer, practicing law and serving as a Certified Financial Planner. He is a native of Chicago, Illinois. John currently lives and works in the St. Louis metropolitan region of Missouri. He is an independent financial executive with both individual and corporate clients. John’s mastery of complex financial strategies has made him a respected member of the financial planning community. When not helping clients with investments and retirement planning needs, John can be found riding his motorcycle or exploring Missouri’s natural waterways with his wife Angela. Educational Background John graduated from Richwoods High School in Peoria, Illinois. As the son of two educators, John learned that education is of the utmost importance in achieving goals. Following graduation, John entered Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri. While at Truman State, he was named a Presidential Scholar. He was also active as a cadet in the school’s ROTC program. Once he graduated, he was selected for commission into the United States Army. Here, he served as an intelligence officer with units like the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions. After several years of service, he separated with the rank of Captain. Just after leaving the Army, John enrolled in the University of Missouri School of Law. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the School in 1991. At the University of Missouri, he was named to the Order of Barristers. In legal practice, he worked as a clerk for several U.S. administrative judges before beginning his role as an estate planning attorney. Next, he took on a role as a Senior Specialist for Missouri-based financial firm Edward Jones. At Edward Jones, John’s work involved guiding corporate and individual clients with investment advice and developing long-range financial goals. John’s knowledge of finances was enhanced by his training as an intelligence officer and as an estate planning attorney. These experiences gave him the ability to analyze financial strategies with a keen eye, giving his clients the very best service available. Today, John works as an independent financial executive. He is a certified financial planner and continues to provide his clients with expert financial advice and guidance.
