Lucanus Polagnoli

Lucanus founded Calm/Storm Ventures in 2020 with the aim to build a new platform of successful founders supporting new entrepreneurs: the Calm/Storm Academy. It's build around a unique network of experienced founders who are investing funds and knowledge. The concept of pairing a boutique fund with a unique founder network came while he was a fund manager at Speedinvest. Lucanus was a general partner at Speedinvest acting as the CFO and personally led investments focused on digital health companies including Playbrush, Ourpath, Ivary, BloomDiagnostics, Doctorly or ThinkSono. Prior to Speedinvest, Lucanus was managing director in one of the startups supported by Hansi Hansmann, one of the leading Business Angels in Austria. Lucanus holds Master degrees in Marketing (WU Vienna) and International Management (CEMS) and spent years in financial consulting, M&A and restructuring. With his passion to help entrepreneurs in difficult situations and his hands-on approach it feels that Lucanus takes on startup challenges more like a co-founder or business angel than a VC. As a father of three and an enthusiastic sailor you'll find Lucanus spending his spare time with his kids or on a boat.
