Alim has deep experience in product development, startup operations, GTM strategy, fundraising, technology commercialization, and innovation strategy. He is an Innovation & Emerging Technology evangelist at the OTPP. Prior to this, he led strategy and operations at an open finance startup which participated in Techstars' inaugural blockchain accelerator in NYC. In early 2018, he played a key role in taking CryptoGlobal (acquired) from inception through to a go-public (via RTO) on the TSXV. Alim is an active thought leader in the open finance space and has delivered presentations in Toronto, NYC, Berlin, and Waterloo. He is a co-founder of the DeFi Toronto meetup (500+ members) and an advisor to several early-stage startups. He is a part-time Professor in the Blockchain Development Program at George Brown College and a member of the Program’s Advisory Council. He holds a Master of Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology (MBET) from the University of Waterloo and is a designated CPA.
