John is a veteran entrepreneur and angel investor, currently CEO of Hatcher, a leading B2b accelerator based in Singapore – investor in fast-growing startups ApexPeak, Dropsuite, Heardable, Onroom, Inzen Studio, LenderExchange, Keygo, SocialCops, ThoughtRiver, and Telr – and home to a hard-working, super-fun crew. Orchestrated merger of Telr with Innovate Payments, creating UAE’s fastest-growing online payment platform. Managed fund-raising efforts resulting in over US$100m in equity/debt raised for portfolio companies to date. Chairman and CEO of Content and Systems, an investment holding company. First round angel investor in DocDoc, built user platform, orchestrated and led the merger of Asia’s two leading health portals: DocDoc and DoctorPage. Co-founded/funded and built the platforms for Hatcher and leading brand information portal, Heardable.com. Prior to 2010, founded DealHorizon.com, advised Gateway Communications, based in London and Cape Town, MDS America, based in the US, Sheeel.com, based in Kuwait, and Wontok, based in Sydney. Director for mobile payments leader Mozido, based in Dallas, advised Orion Partners, a $2B private equity fund based in Hong Kong. Chairman of Authentium (acquired by Commtouch), a leading security software company based in Palm Beach. Patents and inventions include SafeCentral, the leading kernel-level security technology (acquired by Wontok), and related secure DNS and secure payment technologies.
